Things that we dont use anymore

I will try to make a small post to get us remember of some things that we don't use anymore. I think it will be nice to have some photos of those things just to take a look.

This is the gramophone. Used to listen music.

The gramophone used records like in the photo.

The next thing is the magneto-phone used mostly for recordings.

As you can see it uses these rolls with the magnetic tape.

This is the tape recorder. I used this a lot since I was born in the 70's this was the cool device to listen music with.

And the tapes looked like this.

And most of you who had things like this know the link between a tape or cassette and a pencil.

The next thing is the VHS Player/Recorder

We used this to see videos, mostly movies but also home recordings. And VHS tapes were used in this devices.

Also there were these VHS cameras to record videos.

The next thing is the portable video game that most of the kids wanted so much to have one of these.
This game is the old Pac Man game.

Roller skates.

Portable CD player.

Old photo developing technology.

These things are just some of the things we don't use today. Maybe there are more but this is what i could think off today.

Hope you like it.

The winter

During the weekend me and my family went out just for a walk and a coffee. Actually we had a good time.
My little daughter fell asleep after she walked quiet much and we had some coffee. It was a sunny day and the temperature was around 8 C/ 46 F and was so nice to sit outside and drink coffee. The snow that fell a couple of days ago melted and the ground was almost dry.

Everything was nice, we had lunch and everything. The was a quiet afternoon with a lot of cartoons on TV and in the evening we got ready for sleep because it was Sunday and we had to get ready for the  big Monday.

I got up at 06:00 and started preparing for work. Got prepared and went out and what to see. It snowed like 20 cm/5 or 6 inch and it was great. It is not a big deal but i was kindly surprised because just yesterday was like it was spring.

But i just wanted to share a picture i took going to work and i thought the tree was looking beautiful.
You can see also the amount of snow in the top of the cars.
\Anyway I want to wish all of you a nice day at work.

AM/FM Radio receivers

One of the things that in this century are not officially 'things' are old antique radios. Radios are not produced any more even though there are some models produced lately .People still have them around and listen to the radio while doing something else. It gives some good atmosphere to the space you are living or working.

Lets take a look on some very old radios just to remember what they looked like when they first got out.

A Fisher 500 AM/FM radio

This radio came out in 1959.

Philco radio from 1941

This is a picture  of an inside box

Here is one of the Japanese producers Toshiba. With some new design.

After a while radios got smaller and easy to take it everywhere you go. The got mobile and you could have music everywhere you go.

This one of the first Sony radio receivers that was small and had a lot of success
.In the 50's there was quite a 'war' between US, Japan and Germany for selling electronic devices. And the Japanese companies were constantly pushing for US and Europe markets for its large number of population.

Another Sony model but smaller.

Radios got smaller and smaller and the could fit in a pocket. There were still big radios at homes but also there were very popular the portable radios.

I'm going to show some pics of these radios.

Another Sony radio.

This radio is really small.

OK, lets jump a little bit to the present day and i just want to show you a small difference in the way of broadcasting live radio.

Today you can listen to radio station of various and specific music or content and all of this is possible through your Phone, PC and TV.
So this connection is possible through Internet and there are also some late models of radio receivers that connect to the Internet and play radio stations.

I would like to show some of these radios.

Logitech Smart Radio

Asus Internet radio receiver with the old vintage design.

And for the end a really nice radio 'box' with a lot of possibilities.

REVO Axis radio receiver (Wi-Fi and Blue tooth) with 3.5 inch touchscreen.

This was it about radios, a very short story but interesting maybe.
Hope you liked it. Thank you.

They were professional computers from Germany

  • PCC 2000 is a professional computer released in 1978.

  • The MCM 70/700 was released in the early 70's.

  • The Imlac PDS-1 was the first graphical computer released on 1970.
